I want you to get the care you need
Healing Together
I place a strong emphasis on the transformative potential of authentic human connection. I firmly believe that mental well-being flourishes when a genuine and meaningful bond is forged between the client and therapist. While I am well trained in various counseling approaches, my primary focus lies in nurturing the depth and quality of our therapeutic relationship.
This means that I will treat you with respect and care. I will aim to make changes in the way I am working that suit you and to listen carefully
EMDR
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is an approach used to address the effects of trauma. It involves utilizing bilateral stimulation (movement between the sides of the body) to assist the brain in processing the aftermath of an overwhelming experience. EMDR is a scientifically validated treatment for trauma and can be used for a variety of mental health problems such as phobias, traumatic grief and anxiety.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Through my training in narrative therapy, I've acquired the skill of examining problems within their various contexts. This approach has enabled me to separate the problem from the individual, fostering a clearer perspective. I've also developed the ability to recognize and appreciate the learned skills and strengths that clients have. I actively seek collaborative ways to address issues, drawing from the unique experiences of my clients. It's not uncommon for clients to possess effective solutions, though they may face challenges in identifying them within the midst of the problem.
Narrative Therapy
Using speech to express our experiences, thoughts, and emotions can sometimes be a significant challenge. My training in expressive therapies supports my clients in using their other senses to convey and comprehend their inner world. Through techniques like sandplay therapy, clients have the opportunity to externalize their internal landscape, providing them with a new vantage point. This often sparks creative and helpful responses to their challenges.
